Executes end-to-end client onboardings for HR and payroll services, managing configuration, data migration, testing, and project milestones from kickoff to go-live.

What this role involves

About Melita

For more than 30 years, Melita Group has helped small and mid-sized employers solve the complexity of HR, Employee Benefits, and Payroll. We combine deep expertise with a modern technology platform to deliver outsourced services that let our clients focus on growing their businesses while we handle the operational backbone of their workforce. We are a results-driven, high-integrity organization that holds itself accountable to its promises, and our clients stay with us for years, often decades, because we treat their success as our own. As we scale, we are investing heavily in technology, automation, and AI to raise the bar on what an HR outsourcing partner can deliver.

The Opportunity

Every new client relationship begins with implementation, and the quality of that experience sets the trajectory for retention, expansion, and reference-ability for years to come. The Implementation Specialist is a hands-on role that supports bringing complex HR, benefits, and payroll clients live on our platform. You will do the configuration, data migration, and testing yourself, not just manage it from a distance.

Reporting to the Head of Implementations, you will support onboardings end to end and be the connective tissue that ensures what was sold is what gets delivered. This role is ideal for someone who has implemented outsourced Payroll and HR services at a PEO, an HRO, or an HRIS technology vendor, and who wants to do the work, contribute to the outcome, and help shape how we implement as we scale.

Reporting and Scope

  • Reports to: Head of Implementations (Molly Taylor)
  • Department and team: Client Success, Implementation Team
  • Location: Remote (U.S.)
  • Key partners: Sales, Client Success, Service Delivery, the internal Technology team, Product, and Finance, along with HRIS and benefits carrier partners

Core Responsibilities:

Client Implementations (hands-on)

  • Support and help execute new client onboardings across HR administration, payroll, benefits, and leave of absence services, from kickoff to a clean handoff to the ongoing service teams.
  • Contribute directly to the outcomes that matter: time to live, client satisfaction at go-live, and a smooth transition to Service Delivery.
  • Help build and maintain the implementation project plan, support progress against milestones, and help keep every workstream on schedule.

Platform Configuration, Data Migration, and Integrations (hands-on)

  • Configure the client’s HRIS and complete the build yourself on platforms including ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, and Rippling, and in our Salesforce environment.
  • Run data migrations and validate the results: employee data, payroll history, benefit plans and deductions, and PTO balances.
  • Stand up the data interfaces that keep everything in sync, including benefits carrier EDI feeds and GL file feeds, partnering with our internal Technology team where deeper build is required.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work hand-in-hand with Sales, Client Success, Service Delivery, Product, and Finance to align on client expectations, scope, pricing assumptions, and post-implementation transitions.
  • Be the connective tissue that ensures what was sold is what gets delivered.

AI, Automation, and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and champion opportunities to apply AI, automation, and modern tooling to implementation workflows. This is a priority investment area for Melita.
  • Document and improve implementation workflows so each onboarding is faster and cleaner than the last.

What We Are Looking For

  • Very strong, hands-on experience supporting and implementing outsourced Payroll and HR services, ideally gained at a PEO, an HRO, or an HRIS technology vendor that installs a full HRIS together with outsourced services.
  • Hands-on HRIS implementation experience on one or more major platforms (ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, or Rippling), including configuration and data migration.
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience, multi-state processing, tax setup, and mid-year conversions with YTD balancing
  • A proven track record running end-to-end implementations and managing a project plan across multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • A natural problem-solver who thrives on complexity and drives clarity, and a systems thinker who bridges workflows across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high-integrity, client-first approach.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing benefits administration and leave of absence services, not only payroll and HR.
  • Familiarity with benefits carrier EDI feeds, GL file feeds, and integrations across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce and with AI-enabled or automation-heavy implementation workflows.
  • A project management credential (for example PMP or CAPM) is a plus but not required.
  • A payroll professional credential (for example FPC or CPP) is a plus but not required.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. Project Management Engineering Manager at Sotheby's

Leads and builds engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining Sotheby's technology systems, from internal tools to client-facing platforms and real-time auction infrastructure.

Lead Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

ABOUT SOTHEBY’S

Established in 1744, Sotheby’s promotes access and ownership of exceptional art and luxury objects through auctions, private sales and retail. Our deep expertise across 70 selling categories is supported by a leading technology platform and a global network of specialists spanning 40 countries. Selling categories include Contemporary Art, Modern and Impressionist Art, Old Masters, Chinese Works of Art, Jewelry, Watches, Wine and Spirits and Design, as well as collectible cars and real estate through RM Sotheby’s and Concierge. Sotheby’s Financial Services is a leading art lender and provides capital solutions for collectors around the world, having originated more than $12 billion in loans since its inception. Sotheby’s new global headquarters is now open at the iconic Breuer building at 945 Madison Avenue in New York City.

THE ROLE

Established in 1744, Sotheby’s is the world’s premier destination for art and luxury. The engineering that powers it today reflects that same ambition, built on modern technologies and modern practices.

Auctions are the most visible part of what we do, but every sale that runs through Sotheby’s is backed by the entire engineering organisation. The work starts months before a lot crosses the block, from the systems that support how we acquire and value inventory, through to the platforms our clients and specialists interact with daily, the identity and compliance infrastructure that keeps it all trustworthy, and the services that make the live event itself possible.

That breadth is what makes the engineering here different. Whether you’re working on internal tooling, client-facing products, platform infrastructure, or the real-time systems behind a sale moving hundreds of millions of dollars, your work connects to something tangible.

We’re looking for engineering managers who can build and lead the teams that own these systems. People who care as much about the engineers they work with as the software those engineers produce, and who are curious enough to learn a domain that will surprise them.

Our engineering teams are remote-first and globally distributed. It’s how we’re built, and it’s how we intend to stay.

We’re not async-only. There are regular calls, cross-team meetings, and plenty of direct collaboration alongside the written communication you’d expect from a distributed organisation. The balance works because the people here are good at both.

This role is London or remote within the UK.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

You’ve done this before. 3+ years managing teams of five or more engineers. You’ve hired, developed and retained good people. You know what a healthy team looks like and you know how to get there when it isn’t.

You have real technical depth. You don’t need to write code every day, but you can engage credibly with architectural decisions, review trade-offs, and spot when something is going sideways before it becomes an incident. Your engineers trust your judgment because you’ve earned it.

You deliver through others. You’re measured by what your team ships, not what you build yourself. You care about outcomes, not activity.

You communicate clearly and adapt to your audience. Whether that’s giving context to your team, presenting a plan to leadership, writing up a post-mortem, or navigating a difficult conversation with a direct report. You’re comfortable in all of those.

You create clarity in ambiguity. Priorities shift, dependencies tangle, and plans change. You’re the kind of leader who absorbs that complexity and gives your team something they can actually act on.

Required:

  • Proven engineering management experience with distributed or remote-first teams across multiple time zones
  • A strong technical background in software engineering, with enough depth to guide architectural and infrastructure decisions
  • Experience partnering with product management to define priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes
  • Track record of hiring well, onboarding effectively, and building teams that retain good people
  • A focus on engineering quality: observability, analytics and reporting, testing practices, and ensuring the team ships work they can stand behind

Useful:

  • Familiarity with our core stack: Go, Scala, React/TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, gRPC
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Background in real-time, event-driven, or high-value transaction systems
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, governance, or communities of practice

Project Management Engineering Manager at CircleCI

Engineering manager leading a web experiences team, responsible for people development, product delivery, and stakeholder engagement while maintaining high-trust team culture.

Lead Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Engineering Manager, Web Experiences

CI/CD has been solved. Now it’s being reinvented. AI agents don’t just run pipelines. They write code, trigger builds, interpret failures, and propose fixes. The interfaces that developers use to understand and trust that work don’t exist yet. We’re building them.

At CircleCI, our guiding principles aren’t posters on a wall. We learn fast: we run experiments, accept failure, and scale what works. We think like the customer: every decision connects back to the developer sitting in front of a failing build at 2 am. We own the outcome: not just our slice of it, but the whole thing. If that’s how you already work, you’ll fit here.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who will own the holistic user experiences where customers interact with CircleCI. They will play a critical role in shaping how customers perceive and adopt CircleCI, directly impacting retention and expansion.

This leadership role requires staying close to the work as you build a high-trust, highly competent, and cohesive team while delivering meaningful product improvements at startup speed.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is a people-management position focused on engineering strategy, team performance, and the development of engineers. Some of your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • People Development: Attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent. Build psychological safety and trust within the team so engineers can take smart risks, give candid feedback, and do their best work. Develop people through coaching, mentoring, and management support. Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, and feedback conversations with engineers and support them in their career paths. Continuously work to improve inclusion and belonging.
  • Business Value Delivery: Ensure incremental value delivery and high-quality standards for the team while supporting strategic work in collaboration with partners in Design, Product, and Data. Balance speed with sustainability – we move fast, but we ship work we’re proud of. Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders and customers to gather feedback, understand needs, and ensure engineering initiatives align with business objectives. For Web Experiences, this means staying connected to how customers actually use our product and translating those insights into team priorities.
  • Process and Collaboration: Maintain high levels of transparency and efficiency with other development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders. You’ll also be involved in broader organizational development and cross-team initiatives with the rest of our engineering management team.
  • Technical Enablement: AI-native engineering isn’t a nice-to-have on this team – you hold your engineers to that bar, use AI tools yourself to evaluate technical direction and pressure-test decisions, and help the team adopt practices that actually accelerate their work rather than just feel productive. Help grow the team’s expertise in frontend performance, reliability, and maintainable architecture. Champion the use of observability tools like Honeycomb and Datadog so operational data – not guesswork – drives technical decisions. You don’t need to write the ADR, but you make sure one gets written, you push back when the reasoning is weak, and you’re a credible tiebreaker when the team is split.

Who You Are

  • People Management: You have prior experience in a people management role. You know how to build cohesive teams where people trust each other and hold each other accountable. Bonus points if you have done so in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Delivery: You do not “boil the ocean” but prefer to deliver solutions incrementally, with experimentation and iteration along the way. You know modern software engineering practices and how to apply them to drive effective, timely, high-quality delivery. Experience with agile methodologies is an asset.
  • AI-Native Mindset: You haven’t waited for AI to mature, and you don’t let your team wait either. You can speak to how AI tools change what “shipping fast” actually means; you’ve formed real opinions on where they help and where they fall short; and you hold your engineers accountable for using them well – as part of how the team operates, not a bonus skill.
  • Technical Leadership: We don’t expect you to write or review code, but you’re technical enough to earn your team’s trust – you understand and question architecture decisions based on company goals, anticipate pitfalls, and are a credible tiebreaker when the team is split. You mentor engineers, give direct feedback on technical direction, and raise the quality bar through how you engage in reviews and design discussions, not just what you ship.
  • Communication: You believe in open and honest communication and work to cultivate this within the team and organization. You approach everything with an open mind and listen to different perspectives before determining a path forward.
  • Product Thinking: You bring product instincts to every decision by identifying what matters to developers, shaping priorities, and pushing back when a direction doesn’t serve the user.
  • Learning: You bring action orientation and seek to continuously improve the teams you work with. You excel in a culture centered on open communication, strong feedback, quick experimentation, blamelessness, and embracing failure to learn from it.
  • Remote Work: CircleCI is a remote-first company, and you should have experience leading and motivating a distributed team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing frontend-leaning full-stack teams: You have experience working on/leading teams - ideally with modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript, etc.). You can ask the right questions, spot quality issues, and raise the bar on frontend craft even if you’re not writing code daily.

Sound like you?

You’ve stopped waiting for AI to mature and are already building with it, not as a productivity trick, but as a core part of how you think about problems. You care about the product as much as the code. You’re drawn to work where the patterns don’t exist yet and the best answer requires you to invent it – and you’re ready to bring others along with you. If that’s how you already operate, we want to talk.
