Engineer Software Engineer, Agentic Infrastructure at Vercel

Design and operate high-scale infrastructure systems that power Vercel's build and deployment platform, handling millions of daily builds with focus on performance, reliability, and developer experience.

Mid Posted about 13 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next.

For more than a decade, Vercel has shaped how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents.

We are building the platform for that future, trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next.

About the Role:

The next generation of software won’t just be used by people — it’ll be built and shipped by agents. Builds are where that happens, and they’re the beating heart of Vercel. Whether an idea starts in v0, in an agent, or in an engineer’s editor, every customer builds — and millions of builds flow through our systems every day.

As an engineer on the Agentic Infrastructure team, you’ll take ownership of the systems that carry that work at scale. You won’t just contribute features — you’ll be responsible for the design, reliability, and evolution of the platform itself. You’ll make decisions that shape performance, define best practices, and ensure the workflows that Vercel, our customers, and their agents depend on are fast, resilient, and secure.

This role blends product thinking with deep systems ownership. You’ll partner with teams across Vercel to build and operate the agentic infrastructure that determines how software actually ships.

We’re looking for engineers who want to own high-scale systems end-to-end, thrive on improving the developer/agent experience, and are driven to have a lasting impact on how modern software gets built and delivered.

What You Will Do:

  • Own and evolve the infrastructure that powers Vercel’s build and deployment lifecycle — from handling webhooks to designing resilient database schemas and building scalable APIs.
  • Design and operate high-performance microservices that process millions of builds daily, ensuring speed, reliability, and developer delight.
  • Lead projects end-to-end: from identifying opportunities to defining technical direction and delivering improvements in performance, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure with company-wide goals and ensure seamless developer workflows.
  • Shape the long-term vision of agentic infrastructure at Vercel by setting standards for scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, taking responsibility for the reliability of critical systems.
  • Contribute to the open-source community, representing Vercel’s commitment to advancing developer tools globally.
  • Write clean, efficient, tested, and well-documented code that others can build upon confidently.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating backend applications and distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to navigate and improve complex systems.
  • Strong proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
  • A track record of end-to-end ownership — from design and implementation through to long-term operation in production.
  • Skilled at cross-team collaboration, able to influence priorities and drive alignment toward shared goals.
  • Able to reason about technical direction and architectural tradeoffs, balancing long-term vision with pragmatic delivery.
  • Invested in the people around you — through mentorship, code review, or simply raising the bar on how the team builds.
  • Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to push the boundaries of how modern software gets built and shipped.

Bonus If You:

  • Are familiar with React or Next.js
  • Have experience with DynamoDB
  • Have worked to develop a CI/CD platform or internal developer platform used by other engineers or by agents.
  • Have experience contributing to, or participating in open-source projects.
  • Have experience optimizing build systems for monorepos or polyrepo setups.
  • Have experience with build caching, artifact storage, or dependency management at scale.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The base pay range for this role is $196,000.00 - $294,000.00. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

What this role involves

In the time it takes you to read this job description, RapidSOS will have handled ~1,380 emergencies.

At RapidSOS, we are committed to using technology to build a safer, stronger future and working together to save lives. We’re in an exciting phase of growth, welcoming new members from across the globe to our mission-driven, ambitious, and inclusive team. Our work is founded on our values of trust and safety, pioneering, urgency, and purpose over pride, all of which support a company culture where people can innovate, collaborate, grow, and, above all, make an impact.

RapidSOS is the leading public safety AI company that unlocks mission-critical intelligence for emergency response. It harnesses artificial and human intelligence to fuse life-saving data from the world’s largest safety network, which includes over 700M+ connected devices and 200+ global technology companies. This intelligence is delivered to 23,000+ federal, state, and local agencies, serving one million first responders. RapidSOS has supported over one billion emergencies in 16 countries, powering RapidSOS HARMONY, the first purpose-built AI for public safety, designed to save critical time by automatically detecting emergencies, unifying real-time data and video streams, and coordinating a faster, more effective response. Learn more at www.RapidSOS.com.

What this role is about: Our Voice AI team is building the next generation of intelligent safety technology. We build AI agents that triage incoming alerts in seconds, relieve the burden on emergency telecommunicators by handling non-emergency calls, and provide real-time translation between callers and call-takers. As an AI Engineer on this team, you’ll own core capabilities end to end—from model behavior and backend architecture to evaluation tooling. Every improvement you ship shaves seconds off a response, and in an emergency, seconds are what save lives.

What you’ll do:

  • End-to-end product delivery: Own Voice AI agent(s) capabilities from problem discovery and rapid experimentation through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and measurement of impact across the real-time agent, APIs, web application, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Improve conversational quality: Improve the caller experience—including latency, turn-taking, barge-in, speech recognition, multilingual behavior, protocol adherence, and transfers—using production evidence and reproducible experiments.
  • Safety and reliability: Design fail-safe behaviors, strengthen service resilience and observability, and respond to production issues through contributing factors  analysis, mitigation, and prevention.
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement: Build and use automated evaluations, call-replay tools, production metrics, and controlled traffic trials to identify regressions, quantify trade-offs, and improve model and system behavior.
  • Work across the full stack, from Python backend and AI model behavior to the React/TypeScript UI that customers and operators use to configure and monitor their AI agents.
  • Use AI tools daily to move faster on code, testing, call analysis, and incident triage, while keeping full ownership of architecture, safety boundaries, and production decisions.

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 2-3+ years of back-end or full-stack engineering experience shipping production software end to end, with hands-on experience building AI/LLM applications and solid fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, and operational reliability
  • Real-time voice, streaming media, or conversational agent experience is a strong plus
  • Strong Python proficiency, including async programming, with the flexibility to work full-stack, including our TypeScript/React frontend (prior experience with it a plus or open to learning)
  • Ability to evaluate non-deterministic AI behavior using datasets, automated metrics, qualitative call review, controlled experiments, and clear statistical reasoning
  • A genuine bias for action, balanced with care: a self-starter who moves fast with an ownership mindset, states intent rather than asks for permission, and doesn’t cut corners on a safety-sensitive system
  • Product-minded problem solving: able to turn ambiguous problems into simple solutions, make evidence-based trade-offs, and own the outcome rather than only the implementation
  • Clear written and verbal communication along with a collaborative streak that raises the whole team’s velocity
  • Genuinely AI-forward: fluent with AI-assisted coding, always looking for new ways to use AI to work faster, and pushing the envelope with fresh ideas on how we can do better as a team
  • Willingness to join a weekly on-call rotation and travel 1-2 times per quarter for in-person team gatherings (mostly within Europe)

What we offer:

  • The chance to work with a passionate team on solving one of the largest challenges globally
  • Competitive salary and benefits and equity participation
  • A dynamic, flexible and fun start-up work environment with a highly talented team

Our medical imaging solutions streamline the flow of information, simplifying complex processes, maximizing efficiencies, and shining a light on the unknown. We empower physicians to get patients the answers they need faster and improve outcomes for everyone. With more accessible imaging, we are getting patients out of the dark.

Headquartered in Raleigh, NC and Montreal, Intelerad has nearly 800 employees located in offices across four countries. The company empowers nearly 2,000 healthcare organizations around the world with the speed, scalability, and simplicity needed to increase business performance while, most importantly, improving patient outcomes. Intelerad’s modern enterprise solutions have been acknowledged by a Best in KLAS recognition, ranking #1 for PACS Europe UK/Ireland in the 2026 Best in KLAS: Global Software (Non-US) report.

Job Description

We are seeking a Software Developer to join the InteleShare team and contribute to Intelerad’s secure, cloud-based medical image sharing platform. In this role, you will design and deliver features that connect healthcare providers, imaging centers, hospitals, and patients — enabling timely, accurate diagnoses across institutions and geographies. You will work within a cross-functional Agile team, take ownership of features end to end, and contribute to a platform that handles DICOM medical imaging at scale.

InteleShare is a polyglot platform: a Perl/mod_perl services tier on PostgreSQL, a JavaScript web client (jQuery and vanilla JavaScript across the established pages, React and TypeScript in newer areas), a Java (Spring Boot) storage service backed by S3 and other cloud object stores, and a C#/.NET on-premises harvester that speaks DICOM and HL7 to customer PACS. You will start in one or two of these codebases and grow into the others over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features across the InteleShare web application and services tier — typically the web front end (jQuery and vanilla JavaScript in the established pages, React in newer areas) and the Perl service APIs it calls — taking ownership from scoping through delivery, ensuring solutions are tested, documented, and meet sprint commitments.
  • Write and tune PostgreSQL queries and schema changes for a large, high-volume production database, following the team’s schema versioning and migration process.
  • Translate customer support escalations and stakeholder requirements into well-engineered technical solutions, reproducing issues across the full stack (browser, API, database, storage, DICOM/HL7 interfaces) and resolving root causes rather than symptoms.
  • Contribute to code quality through thorough pull request reviews, unit and integration tests, and clear documentation, supporting team-wide standards and knowledge sharing.
  • Support DevOps and operational initiatives including containerized AWS/Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipeline maintenance, and participation in production troubleshooting alongside senior engineers.
  • Work as a full-stack generalist across languages and codebases as business needs evolve, identifying opportunities for improvement and taking the initiative to implement them within an Agile/Scrum workflow.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • 3+ years of professional web application development experience, or equivalent experience with a demonstrable track record of delivering production-quality software.
  • Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Perl, Python, Java, C#, Ruby, PHP, or equivalent) and willingness to become productive in Perl, which powers the InteleShare services tier.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including the ability to read query plans and diagnose slow queries.
  • Solid JavaScript skills, including direct DOM and jQuery work; experience with React or a comparable component framework.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a distributed team environment, managing priorities and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex, long-term goals into well-scoped, deliverable increments.
  • Comfort working across multiple languages, frameworks, and problem domains as business needs evolve.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

  • Perl development experience (mod_perl or other server-side Perl).
  • REST API and PostgreSQL database development expertise.
  • Frontend development experience: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS/LESS, and React (with Redux, TypeScript, and a component library such as Ant Design in newer areas); familiarity with webpack, Jest, and Playwright or Selenium.
  • Familiarity with containerized deployment: building Docker images and working with Helm charts in a Kubernetes pod deployment model.
  • Git/GitHub version control experience and familiarity with unit and integration testing best practices.
  • AWS cloud services knowledge (S3, EC2, RDS, ECR, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology in fast-paced development environments.
  • Background in healthcare technology: DICOM, HL7, FHIR, medical imaging, or radiology workflow understanding.
  • Exposure to a regulated development environment (HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485⁄9001, or similar).

Engineer OfferUp: Software Development Engineer II Full Stack - Business (Remote @ Colombia)

Full-stack software engineer who designs, builds, and deploys features end-to-end across business verticals using React, Java, Node.js, and GraphQL, owning everything from frontend to backend services.

Mid Remote Posted about 16 hours ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Remote @ Colombia

About the role:

The OfferUp Business team owns the platforms that power every business vertical on our marketplace; Storefronts, Auto Dealers, Services, Rentals, and Jobs. Our customers aren't casually browsing; they're running businesses on top of what we build, so every feature we ship has a direct, measurable impact on their livelihood and on OfferUp's revenue. We operate the full stack end-to-end: including microservices that handle some of the highest RPS and TPS in the company, and integrations with partners like Stripe and Shopify. We move fast, instrument everything, and treat experimentation as a first-class part of the workflow. We've barely scratched the surface of what these verticals can become, and the roadmap is wide open for someone who wants to help shape it.

At many organizations, your role begins and ends with the code. On our team, we’re different. You own a feature from concept to fruition. Your responsibilities will include everything from writing well architected and thoroughly tested code, to rolling out the feature by analyzing metrics. You also get to take ownership beyond your technical area by working with cross-functional team members.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer II on the Business team, you'll be a proven contributor who ships features end-to-end across the stack. From the React components our business customers interact with, to the Java services and data pipelines behind them. You'll take real ownership of the work you deliver, raise the quality of the code around you, and grow into a high-performing, reliable contributor on the team.

Here’s more of what you will get to do:

  • Design, build, and deploy new user experiences and backend services across our five business verticals, using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, and Java
  • Own features end-to-end: plan, design, develop, deploy, measure, and iterate
  • Break down complex engineering problems into achievable tasks and deliver them within committed timeframes
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Data, Business stakeholders) to design and implement new features
  • Contribute to A/B tests and use experimentation results to decide what ships
  • Actively participate in code reviews and enforce good patterns, testing, and edge-case handling
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, new hires, and interns
  • Create shared components, utilities, and services that improve team velocity across the stack
  • Maintain and improve the runbooks, alerting, and monitoring for the features you ship
  • Participate in a reasonable on-call rotation with the rest of the team
  • Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and similar) to increase your daily development velocity and code quality
  • Become a subject matter expert in one or more of the team's sub-domains

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to own the delivery of multiple features end-to-end (plan, design, develop, and deploy) with high efficiency, including breaking down engineering problems into achievable tasks
  • Strong coding skills across the full stack:
    • React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web tooling; good grasp of responsive design, performance, and cross-browser compatibility
    • Java and a working understanding of microservices and distributed-systems fundamentals
  • Experience building and integrating with REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Good knowledge of data structures and object-oriented design
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in a real engineering workflow, and a point of view on when they help and when they don't
  • Follows good coding patterns, writes appropriate tests, considers trade-offs, and actively seeks out edge cases
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in code reviews
  • A bias toward shipping, learning from production, and iterating quickly
  • An insatiable desire and ability to learn
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

Helpful, but not required:

  • Fluency in any other modern OOO programming language
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience around any of the following: web package managers, Bower, bundler system, NodeJS, Python, webpack
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms (Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely) and analytics warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake)
  • Experience consuming or integrating LLM-based APIs (e.g., Bedrock, Vertex AI, OpenAI)
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines

Mid Hybrid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Platform team. You will build the observability systems that give Vercel visibility into how we build, ship, and operate our systems. You will report to Eric Larson, Engineering Manager, Platform and will be located onsite, hybrid, or remote.

  • Partner with Backend and Platform teams to instrument services for compliance, auditing, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Evaluate, integrate, and help operate observability infrastructure across our existing vendors and the CNCF ecosystem.
  • Ship pragmatic, high-leverage visibility quickly that drives improvement in how build, deploy, and operate our systems.
  • Work closely with Backend and Platform engineers to scale observability infrastructure to the throughput and cardinality of Vercel’s full production traffic.

About you:

  • Hands-on experience with Go, Rust, or Zig in production systems.
  • Experience with distributed computing systems at scale.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, including object storage.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling and concepts (Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, Splunk, or CNCF-based stacks such as Prometheus-compatible backends).

Bonus if you:

  • Have contributed to or worked closely with CNCF observability projects.
  • Built, scaled, and improved internal developer platforms.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.

Engineer Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused) - Brazil at Brafton Inc.

Full stack developer builds custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks, and Drupal sites using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP, collaborating with design and consulting teams to deliver client websites.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Brafton is one of the world’s leading content marketing firms, with offices in Boston, London, Toronto and Sydney. We aspire to continually raise the bar on what people consider “marketing content.” We create result-focused strategies and content to drive SEO, social engagement and leads for our clients. Our teams continuously build expertise across new media formats, including video, blogs, infographics and web design.

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer who loves building clean, performant interfaces and knows their way around a CMS well enough to make the backend work for the frontend, not against it. You’ll spend most of your time in HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript — building custom Gutenberg blocks, theming, and pixel-perfect implementations from design mockups — while staying comfortable enough in PHP and WordPress/Drupal internals to troubleshoot, extend, and integrate when needed.

You’ll work directly with our design and consulting teams to turn mockups into fast, accessible, well-crafted websites for clients across a range of industries.

What You’ll Do

  • Build custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks (ACF or React-based), and plugins from provided designs

  • Translate mockups into responsive, accessible frontend code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and modern JavaScript

  • Work within Drupal for client sites that require it — theming, content types, and module-level troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and fix frontend and backend issues across a variety of CMS platforms

  • Collaborate directly with designers, consultants, and occasionally clients to solve problems and refine implementations

  • Use AI tools like Claude Code to plan out and execute aspects of a large project.

What You Bring

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of professional frontend development — strong HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript fundamentals

  • 3+ years building and customizing WordPress sites, including Gutenberg block development (ACF or React-based blocks)

  • Solid working knowledge of PHP (7.x/8.x) — enough to read, debug, and extend WordPress/Drupal codebases confidently

  • Practical Drupal experience — theming, content architecture, or module-level work

  • Familiarity with WordPress hooks/filters and general LAMP-stack conventions (MySQL, Git)

  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating in a remote, client-facing environment

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with React or Angular

  • Laravel or Symfony

  • Docker and Linux environment familiarity

  • AWS or other cloud platform exposure

Why Brafton

100% remote, full-time role with a US-based team lead and a genuinely collaborative, cross-office culture spanning five countries.

$30,000 - $35,000 a year

Plus commission

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. Engineer Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused) - Canada at Brafton Inc.

Full-stack developer builds custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks, and Drupal sites using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP while collaborating with design and consulting teams.

$75,000 - $80,000 a year

Pay range displayed in CAD, plus commission

Benefits Include: Commission, Health Savings Account, pension, paid vacation, flexible remote schedule, and more!

Engineer Backend Engineer - Data (m/f/d) at alcemy

Build and maintain data ingestion APIs and systems that ingest messy plant data into ML models, deploy to production, and troubleshoot issues in a cloud environment.

Mid Hybrid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Berlin Mitte · Hybrid (up to 2 days/week remote) · €60,000–75,000 + VSOP equity

Help us decarbonize cement and concrete - not tomorrow, today

alcemy is on a mission to keep 100 million tons of CO₂ out of the atmosphere every year by 2030. Making concrete accounts for around 8% of global CO₂ emissions, and our machine-learning software runs inside cement and concrete plants 24⁄7 to cut it - without sacrificing quality or driving up costs. We’re already live in a third of Germany’s cement plants and 30+ ready-mix concrete plants.

The role

You’ll own the systems that get plant data into alcemy.

That data comes from external partners, and it arrives messy. You’ll build and own the APIs and services that take it in, make sense of it, and feed the machine-learning models behind our recommendations - designing those systems, deploying them, keeping them running, and diagnosing what went wrong when something upstream changes without warning.

It’s a backend engineering role with a data problem at the centre of it, and it’s refreshingly hands-on with customers: you’ll dig into real-world data, explain what you find to non-technical people, and make getting data into alcemy dramatically easier.

What you need is solid production Python, the ability to run what you build, and comfort talking to the people on the other end of the pipe.

What you’ll do

  • Own the data ingestion systems that bring messy plant data from external partners into something our ML can use
  • Build and improve our ingestion APIs, moving us from strict, structured data requirements toward flexible, AI-powered ingestion — so customers onboard with far less friction
  • Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot your systems in production, diagnosing and fixing issues when something upstream changes without warning
  • Track down data anomalies and explain your findings to customers in plain language
  • Build and maintain the APIs and PostgreSQL databases behind our products, and keep production running smoothly
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with external partners, customers, sales and customer success - translating between the technical and the non-technical
  • Collaborate with the product team on backend work

You’ll thrive here if… above all, you care about climate change and want your work to count.

Must-haves

  • You’ve deployed production-grade Python applications
  • You know how to deploy, monitor and troubleshoot production systems in a cloud environment
  • You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, and you collaborate well across roles
  • You’re comfortable working directly with customers, sales and customer success - patient, plain-spoken, and at ease with non-technical enterprise teams
  • You pick up unfamiliar codebases quickly, and you’re keen to contribute early
  • You’re open to using AI tools to augment how you work

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to machine learning or data pipeline projects
  • Experience with FastAPI, Flask or Django
  • PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases
  • Experience designing or maintaining integrations with third-party or partner systems

Don’t tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

How we work

You won’t be working alone - you’ll build collaboratively alongside senior and junior engineers, owning features end to end: build, test, review, deploy.

Small team, direct customer exposure, fast startup pace - so async communication, clear prioritisation, transparency, and direct feedback are the norm, and how we work is something we shape together, and keep improving.

We use Claude Code responsibly: AI to move fast, engineers always in charge and accountable, no AI-slop merge requests.

We’ll ask you to be flexible. We don’t have fixed teams or fixed projects here. As the business shifts, we’ll ask you to move to where the work matters most and pick up new problems. If you enjoy variety and switching between problems, you’ll do well here.

Hybrid by design (Berlin Mitte office, up to 2 days remote, plus offsites and boat trips), with real room to grow along technical-expert or management tracks - and the chance to lead a product area within a couple of years.

  • 25 days’ vacation - plus an extra day for every 2 years here, and the days between Christmas and New Year off
  • €1,500/year and 3 days/quarter for your own development
  • The Mac of your choice
  • An office in the heart of Berlin Mitte

Our Tech Stack

  • Backend & data: Python throughout - FastAPI (auto-generated Swagger/OpenAPI), SQLAlchemy, pydantic, pytest, mypy; pandas, polars, numpy, sklearn; uv for dependencies
  • Infra: PostgreSQL, AWS on Kubernetes managed with Terraform, ArgoWorkflows for scheduled jobs, GitLab for code
  • Frontend: React & Next.js in TypeScript with TailwindCSS; Blueprint.js / Radix UI; TanStack Query or axios; Streamlit for internal tools

Our Hiring Process is fully remote

  1. Intro call with our Recruiter
  2. Meet our Hiring Manager
  3. A take-home task that mirrors the real work you’d be doing
  4. Technical interview (90 min) with two engineers, including 30 min of live coding
  5. Team-fit interview (45 min) with two future teammates

At alcemy, we’re building a team as diverse as the industry we’re transforming. We welcome applications from everyone and assess every candidate on merit alone - regardless of gender, age, ethnic or national origin, religion or worldview, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We especially encourage people who are underrepresented in tech to apply. If you need any adjustments to take part fully in our hiring process, just let us know and we’ll make them.

Note: We don’t currently offer visa sponsorship, so you’ll need a valid EU work visa.

Engineer Software tester (QA) - Inteleshare at Intelerad

Software tester writes and maintains automated tests in Java/Cucumber/Selenium frameworks across healthcare imaging platform components and environments.

Mid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Company Description

At Intelerad, we believe the path to answers in healthcare should be clear-whether you are waiting for a diagnosis or trying to expedite one.

As a Software Tester on the InteleShare team, you’ll safeguard the quality of the platform that healthcare providers use to share and exchange medical imaging. Working across the full testing lifecycle, you’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to catch issues before they reach customers, strengthen our automation practices, and help ensure every release meets the reliability our industry demands.

The work is automation-first. InteleShare is covered by a BDD test framework written in Java 17 and Maven — Cucumber feature files driving Selenium page objects for the web UI and Rest-Assured clients for the APIs, with Allure and ExtentReports for results and Jira Xray for test management — executed against nine application components and nine environments through GitHub Actions. You will write and own tests in that framework, not just execute them manually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution: Participate in the full testing lifecycle — requirements validation, test planning, and test case development — through functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing, covering image sharing and exchange workflows end to end: DICOM ingestion and retrieval, HL7-driven order and report flows, storage backends, viewer behaviour, and the web application.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Write and maintain automated tests in the InteleShare framework — Gherkin feature files, Java step definitions, Selenium page objects, and Rest-Assured API tests — and improve the framework’s reliability, coverage, and testability within an Agile Scrum environment.
  • CI & Test Operations: Run and triage regression suites through GitHub Actions across components, environments, browsers, and operating systems; keep results flowing into Jira Xray with useful evidence; and drive down flaky tests so failures mean something.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and report defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and evidence, maintaining traceability in Jira/Xray from business requirements and technical specifications through test cases and executions to resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to formulate test scenarios, reproduce customer escalations, troubleshoot issues across the stack, and support post-release and post-implementation testing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with clients and internal stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into effective test coverage.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies
  • 2+ years of experience as a Software Tester or QA Analyst on web applications, including hands-on test automation, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with project management principles and QA methodology
  • Working knowledge of test management tooling (Jira with Xray, or equivalents such as qTest or Zephyr) and of SQL for verifying data directly in the database (PostgreSQL).
  • Enough programming ability to write and maintain automated tests in an object-oriented language — Java preferred, since the InteleShare framework is Java/Maven — and comfort working in Git/GitHub with pull request reviews.
  • Ability to investigate a failure below the UI: reading application logs, inspecting REST/JSON requests and responses, and using browser developer tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium and a BDD framework (Cucumber/Gherkin), and with API test automation (Rest-Assured, Postman, or similar).
  • Experience running automated suites in CI (GitHub Actions or equivalent) and working with test reporting tools such as Allure or ExtentReports.
  • Cross-browser and cross-platform test experience (Chrome and Firefox on Linux, Windows, and macOS; cloud grids such as BrowserStack).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript test tooling used alongside the front end (Jest, Playwright).
  • Comfort working with containerized test environments — running services as Docker containers or Kubernetes pods.
  • Experience with performance or load testing.
  • Healthcare IT or medical imaging domain knowledge — DICOM, HL7, FHIR, PACS/RIS, or image exchange workflows — is a strong plus.
  • Experience testing in a regulated environment (HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485⁄9001) and producing validation documentation.

Company Description

At Intelerad, we believe the path to answers in healthcare should be clear-whether you are waiting for a diagnosis or trying to expedite one.

Qualifications & Experience
