Chief Architect leads technical strategy and hands-on system design across AI, distributed systems, and platform architecture for a workforce management platform.
Headquarters: Remote, United States
Legion Technologies is building the AI-powered operating system for the hourly workforce. We are hiring a Chief Architect to serve as Legion’s most senior hands-on technical leader and to shape the technical foundation that will power the next decade of product innovation.
This is not a strategy-only or advisory role. The Chief Architect must live close to the code, go deep with engineering teams, challenge assumptions, write and review technical designs, make high-consequence architecture decisions, and help turn bold product ambitions into scalable, reliable production systems.
This person will own architecture and technical decision-making for the most complex parts of Legion’s Workforce Management platform, including AI, optimization, forecasting, scheduling, distributed systems, data platforms, real-time decisioning, enterprise scalability, security, compliance, and developer productivity.
The ideal candidate has built and scaled mission-critical software used by large enterprise customers, has deep technical credibility with senior engineers, and can operate fluidly between code-level decisions and long-term platform strategy. They are pragmatic, decisive, opinionated, and comfortable making hard tradeoffs when simplicity, scalability, reliability, or customer trust require it.
This role reports to the Head of Product, Engineering, and Support. This is an open role currently being filled on an interim basis by the CEO.
Serve as Legion’s senior-most hands-on technical authority for complex architecture, system design, and platform evolution.
15+ years of experience building and scaling large-scale software systems.Prior experience as a Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, Principal Architect, very senior Principal Engineer, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
The strongest candidate will be a deeply technical, hands-on architect who still has the range to shape company-level technical direction. They are not a generic enterprise architect, process owner, or strategy-only leader. They are a builder and technical decision-maker who can personally engage with Legion’s hardest problems and earn the respect of the strongest engineers in the company.
They should be comfortable moving between:
They should be opinionated but not dogmatic, decisive but not reckless, and pragmatic without accepting mediocrity. They should be able to simplify complex systems, identify the real technical risks, and force clarity where teams are stuck in ambiguity.
Salary Range: Base Salary Range $300,000- $385,000 + Bonus + Stock Equity.
At Legion, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all employees. As a fully remote employer, pay for positions is determined using local, national, and industry-specific survey data.

We strive to make competitive offers that allow employees room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount budgeted internally, and internal equity for the same position within the company.

The award-winning, AI-driven Legion WFM platform is intelligent, automated, and employee-centric. It’s proven to deliver 13x ROI through schedule optimization, reduced attrition, increased productivity, and increased operational efficiency. Legion delivers cutting-edge technology in an easy-to-use platform and mobile app that employees love.Â
If you're ready to make an impact and grow your career, Legion is where you belong. Join us in making hourly work rewarding and fulfilling.
There are almost 75 million hourly workers in the United States, representing more than half of the entire workforce. Historically, managing hourly employees has been difficult due to high attrition (average of 60%) and high replacement costs (average of $3,200 per employee in retail). The ongoing labor shortage and competition from the gig economy make it more difficult to attract and retain hourly employees. The top reasons hourly employees leave their jobs are a lack of schedule empowerment, poor communication with employers, and an inability to get paid early. Gen Z and the millennial workforce demand gig-like flexibility, modern technology, and compelling work options. Legion’s mission is to turn hourly jobs into good jobs, serving the hourly workers who make up the majority of the US workforce. We believe in empowering employees and helping employers be efficient and innovative by enabling intelligent automation powered by Legion’s Workforce Management platform to optimize labor efficiency and enhance the employee experience simultaneously. Legion WFM was built for the cloud with AI at the core and designed to handle the complexity of modern businesses and meet the needs of today’s hourly employees. Our team is comprised of dedicated individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, globally distributed across all time zones.

Director of Engineering leads the enterprise ticketing platform engineering organization, sets technical direction, develops engineering leaders, and pioneers AI-native software development practices.
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Director of Engineering will lead the engineering organization responsible for the systems at the core of how teams, venues, and promoters manage tickets and operate their businesses. Hundreds of major live event venues around the globe rely on the SeatGeek platform, including those home to the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers, Florida Panthers, and Manchester United F.C.
You will set technical direction for this complex, mature platform while helping lead its evolution toward SeatGeek’s next generation of products and architecture. At the same time, you will help change how we build software as we move toward an AI-native engineering organization.
This role requires someone who can move comfortably between technology, product, and the ticketing domain. You will partner closely with Product and Design leadership, Engineering Managers, Senior Engineers, and our clients to turn complicated business problems into clear technical and product direction.
US Ticketing includes mature systems that have powered some of the world’s largest live events for years alongside newer services and applications. We care much more about your ability to understand complex systems, make sound architectural decisions, lead modernization, and use new tools effectively than experience with any particular language or framework.
This is a deeply technical leadership role. We do not expect the Director to be the primary implementer, but we do expect them to be willing and able to contribute technically when it helps move the team forward. AI is becoming a core part of our engineering process, and this leader will help us rethink how teams build and evolve software in an AI-native development environment.
The salary range for this role is $236,000-$341,000 USD. This role is equity eligible. In addition, you may receive a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
SeatGeek is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, military or veteran status, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law. As an equal opportunities employer, we recognize that diversity is a positive attribute and we welcome the differences and benefits that a diverse culture brings.

Head of Engineering leads a 9-person rewards platform engineering team, scaling cashback and retention products across 23M users while building out to 25+ engineers.
Who we are
Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.
As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.
Why South Africa
South Africa has one of the strongest engineering communities anywhere in the world, and we are deliberately growing our technology organisation in the country. We already have several team members based here. The work is fully remote, and the mission we are working on is a good deal closer to home than it is for our teams elsewhere.
So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Rewards to join us in South Africa.
About The Role
Rewards is one of the most strategically important platforms at Moniepoint, and it is being built into a dedicated charter with its own engineering and product leadership. The platform sits at the centre of our retention strategy across a user base of approximately 23 million people.
Today the platform does one thing: cashback. It works, but it has barely scratched the surface of what rewards can be, and the cashback product itself is not yet built to the depth it deserves. The ambition is to evolve it into a full rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform — and to do that across the full 360 degrees of our network. That means rewards for our business customers, rewards for our consumer customers, and rewards for the sales agents who drive our distribution. Very few companies get to design this from close to a blank page at this scale.
The Head of Engineering owns that platform end to end. You will inherit a team of nine engineers, including an Engineering Manager, and build the organisation out from there — the current expectation is a minimum of three product units and upwards of 25 people, though the eventual shape is genuinely yours to define. Your first objective is to get the best possible performance out of the cashback product we already have. From there, you will work with Growth, Sales and Marketing to determine what we build for acquisition and retention, and roll it out across every customer we serve.
This is a consumer-facing product engineering role, and that is the most important thing to understand about it. Rewards is won or lost on experimentation, personalisation, and the quality of the experience in a customer’s hands. We are looking for a leader who has built and shipped direct-to-consumer products at scale, who is fluent in experimentation and A/B testing, and who has real depth in front-end and mobile engineering — not a purely backend platform leader.
Moniepoint runs a Domain CTO model. We view our Heads of Engineering as the CTO of their domain: you own the technical roadmap, the architecture, the delivery, and the organisation beneath you. You will have full autonomy over engineering strategy, architecture, hiring, operating cadence and roadmap trade-offs.
You will report functionally to our Group CTO, with a dual reporting line into the Product leader for Rewards. That second line is a delivery relationship rather than a seniority one — engineering and product are peers here, and you will build the team to full capacity together. Your responsibilities as Head of Engineering, Rewards includes:

Lead engineering teams building and modernizing a large-scale workforce operations platform serving 50,000+ sales agents, with focus on platform reliability, financial systems, and CRM infrastructure.

About The Role
Sales and Marketing Tools owns MonieCRM, the operating system for Moniepoint’s 50,000-strong sales network. This is not a CRM we bought — it is a workforce operations platform built entirely in-house for a multi-level field sales hierarchy, and it is how those teams run their day to day: the portfolio of businesses they manage, their own teams, their goals and performance, the physical and digital resources they need in the field, and an emerging AI-assisted support layer. Sixteen capabilities span onboarding and network management, pipeline and portfolio, performance and goals, compensation, and sales experience and support.
A significant part of the domain moves money. The platform owns wallets, commission calculation and attribution, cashout and welfare funds for a network that drives the overwhelming majority of company revenue — which makes financial correctness, not just availability, a core engineering requirement of the role.
Alongside that, the domain covers partner management, a rewards and retention platform serving tens of millions of users, and our marketing technology stack, including the engineering and customisation of Braze, the platform we use for customer engagement. The mandate is modernisation and reliability: re-architecting systems that have grown very quickly and making them dependable at a scale of more than 20 million users. This is a platform engineering and legacy modernisation challenge first and foremost, and prior CRM or SalesTech experience is genuinely not required.

Why Portugal
We have a small but strong group of team members in Portugal, having joined us from companies like Feedzai and OLX. As we continue to build out our engineering organisation across Europe, Portugal is a market we are actively hiring into.
So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to join us in Portugal.
About The Role
POS Hardware and Device Platforms owns the software behind the physical side of Moniepoint’s business: the systems that track, move, maintain and account for millions of POS terminals in the field. That covers inventory and warehouse management, logistics and distribution, repair and maintenance workflows, and the operational tooling the business runs on day to day. It is a backend and distributed systems challenge at real scale - making operational data about millions of physical devices visible, trustworthy and consistent across every market we operate in. It is not a hardware engineering role.
The Head of Engineering, POS Supply Chain, oversees that software estate and is vital as Moniepoint expands internationally and scales device operations globally. Moniepoint is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates.
Leads multiple engineering teams to own technical strategy, architecture, and platform reliability for a payment gateway serving millions of transactions across emerging markets.
Who We Are
Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.
As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.
Why Pakistan
Pakistan is home to the third-largest concentration of technology team members at Moniepoint, and it’s one of the fastest-growing markets we hire into, with real headroom for growth in seniority and scope. We look for people here who understand first-hand what it means for financial services to be difficult to access, and who want to work on problems at a genuine international scale - changing how banking works across emerging markets.
So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway to join us in Pakistan.
About The Role
Monnify is Moniepoint’s online payment acceptance platform: the gateway layer connecting merchants to card networks, banks and payment aggregators, and the tools that let businesses and developers accept and send money digitally. The division owns transaction reliability, routing and throughput at scale, together with the developer experience that sits on top of it - APIs, SDKs, documentation and ease of integration. Built first for Nigerian businesses and developers, the platform is now scaling internationally and moving towards multi-currency, multi-market support.
The Head of Engineering owns the technical direction and architecture of that platform, ensuring scalability, security and developer experience for both technical and non-technical users. The role involves leading multiple engineering teams through their managers, setting strategic architecture, and ensuring platform reliability, security and scalability across Payment In, Payout, Commerce Tools and developer-facing features. As the Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway, your responsibilities will include:

Why Spain
Some of our most mission-critical team members are based in Spain, having joined us from companies like Wise and Glovo. Moniepoint is one of the largest and fastest-growing digital banks in Africa, and this is an opportunity to work on genuinely impactful problems: disrupting financial services at scale in emerging markets, and building systems and products that process hundreds of billions of dollars in transaction volume annually for tens of millions of people.
So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to join us in Spain.
The position involves leading the technical strategy for the domain and managing a large engineering organisation in a remote, distributed environment. Why Poland
Poland is a new and deliberate addition to our engineering map. We recently made our first technology hire in the country, and we see it as a long-term strategic location for senior hires, particularly within engineering. Joining now means joining early, and helping shape what our presence here becomes.
So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to join us in Poland.

The UK is home to our headquarters where more than 70 team members are based. Our London office is located at Sea Containers, just by London Bridge - this is also where a significant number of our most senior leaders sit, which makes it a natural base for a Head of Engineering.

Why South Africa
South Africa has one of the strongest engineering communities anywhere in the world, and we are deliberately growing our technology organisation in the country. We already have several team members based here. The work is fully remote, and the mission we are working on is a good deal closer to home than it is for our teams elsewhere.
