What this role involves

What is PerfectServe?

PerfectServe is a leading provider of clinical communication and physician scheduling solutions in the health IT space. The company was founded in 1997 and has grown steadily since then, with a notable jump after several major acquisitions were announced in 2019. PerfectServe now has 400+ employees, 30,000+ customers — spanning medical practices, hospitals, and health systems — and $100 million+ in annual revenue.

PerfectServe’s mission is to accelerate speed to care by optimizing provider schedules and routing communications — including messages, pages, calls, and alerts — to the right place at the right time in any care setting. By facilitating real-time information sharing, building better schedules, and automating important clinical workflows, we believe we can help our customers advance patient care and improve the well-being of their clinicians.

Leading analyst firms like GartnerÂŽ and KLAS Research have consistently validated our approach:

Engineer Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack), New Ventures at Toast

Build end-to-end fullstack features across backend services, web, and Android apps for Toast's new ventures product line.

Senior Remote Posted about 13 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Location(s): US (remote), Boston (hybrid), or New York (hybrid)

About Toast

Toast builds technology that helps food and beverage businesses run smoother, serve customers better, and grow with confidence. Our platform brings together the tools teams need to power daily operations—while turning complexity into clear, actionable insights. We’re purpose-built for the pace of hospitality, and we’re investing in new experiences that make great businesses easier to run at any scale.

Bready* to make a change?

Our New Ventures team operates like a startup inside Toast. We’re a small group building a new line of business from scratch on the foundation of the Toast platform, unlocking a new market with new customers, and we have a lot of room to decide how things should work.

We’re looking for a builder — someone genuinely fullstack, as comfortable in a backend service as in a React front end, who follows a problem wherever it leads instead of stopping where their specialty ends. You’ll work across backend, web, and our Android point-of-sale and handheld apps. Prior Kotlin isn’t required; comfort learning a new platform is.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Build end-to-end across the stack — backend services, APIs and data models, web front ends, and our Android point-of-sale and handheld apps — going wherever the product needs you.
  • Get up to speed on unfamiliar platforms and codebases quickly — including Android/Kotlin.
  • Be customer-interested and product-minded—curious about what operators actually need, and willing to have a point of view on what we build.
  • Collaborate closely with a small cross-functional team, biasing toward putting things in the hands of customers as fast as possible.
  • Navigate diverse, unfamiliar codebases across the Toast platform and consistently deliver high-quality code on timeline.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of ownership in all aspects of development — including the unglamorous parts: testing, instrumentation, on-call, and cleanup.
  • Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building — contributing to a culture of innovation and productivity across the team.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • A track record of shipping meaningful product to real users, with clear technical and business impact.
  • Genuine fullstack range: you’ve owned features from backend service and API through to the client, and you have a real opinion about both ends.
  • Solid backend fundamentals ( Java, Kotlin, or similar) — distributed systems, asynchronous communication, event-driven architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
  • Comfort with modern web front-end development ( React or similar) and an eye for a usable interface.
  • A credible track record of learning a new language, framework, or platform on the job and shipping production code in it.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clean, maintainable, resilient code that withstands the test of time.
  • Experience in 0→1 builds, and high comfort with shifting priorities and incomplete requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills — you can write up a technical design, get alignment on it, and work well with product and design partners.
  • A clear pattern of using AI tools to accelerate your work, and the ability to speak specifically about how you use them to ship better work faster.

Special sauce* (Nice to haves)

  • Android development experience, particularly production Kotlin (or Java alongside it).
  • You’ve worked on early-stage products, internal incubations, or rapid experimentation teams.
  • Experience with point-of-sale, payments, hardware-adjacent, or offline-first systems.
  • You’ve been the person on a team who fills whatever gap is open — and you enjoyed it.

AI at Toast

At Toast, one of our company values is that we’re hungry to build and learn. About the job

Cosmic AC is Tether Data’s GPU compute and managed inference platform: GPU containers, managed inference endpoints and platform observability, delivered as a self-hosted package on Kubernetes, with a control plane written in JavaScript. The platform is expanding from orchestrating workloads on a managed cluster to owning the full stack on bare-metal GPU infrastructure: a managed Slurm scheduling layer for internal research and model-training teams first, and our own Kubernetes control plane for inference tenancy after that.

The Technical Lead owns the architecture and delivery of that stack and leads the engineering team building it: about twelve engineers across backend, frontend, DevOps, QA and documentation, distributed across Europe and India. The role reports to the Senior Technical Product Manager for Cosmic AC, who owns scope, sequencing and partner commitments; the Technical Lead owns architecture, implementation and delivery plans, line-manages the engineers, and is the primary technical interface to our infrastructure partners.

This is a hands-on infrastructure leadership role with a fixed delivery window in its first six months. It is not a research role, not a pure Kubernetes SRE role, and not a management-only role.

Responsibilities

Architecture. Own the platform architecture end to end: architecture proposals, high-level and low-level designs, driven through review and kept current as the baseline.

Team leadership. Lead and line-manage a distributed team across backend (Node.js), frontend (React), DevOps, QA and documentation: engineering standards, code and design review, release gates, one-to-ones, growth and performance input.

Bare-metal GPU scheduling layer. Design, build and operate a managed Slurm service for research users: controller and accounting, partitions and login nodes, node onboarding and acceptance, driver and CUDA baseline and upgrades, stalled-job and node-health detection, drain and autohealing, storage visibility, identity and isolation.

Kubernetes control plane and GPU enablement. Own cluster bootstrap and lifecycle on partner-provided bare metal, NVIDIA GPU Operator and Network Operator, VM-based GPU isolation (KubeVirt and VFIO), and day-2 operations: upgrades, backup and recovery, node replacement.

Managed inference at scale. Serving architecture, multi-GPU and multi-node parallelism, autoscaling, request routing and endpoint reliability; confidential-compute-capable capacity for sensitive workloads.

Observability and operations. Metrics, logging, alerting and SLOs across control plane, GPU fleet and application tiers; incident response and post-incident review; an on-call model a small team can sustain.

Partners and vendors. Primary technical interface to infrastructure partners and vendors: turning requirements into written specifications and acceptance tests, running escalations to closure, and providing technical input to capacity planning and hardware sourcing.

Internal consumers. Work directly with research, model-training and product teams to translate their workloads into platform requirements, and broker capacity when it is short.

Hiring. Complete the platform team and set the technical bar for the engineers who join it.

Requirements

Must have

  • Experience. Eight or more years of hands-on engineering, including at least three leading teams that build and operate infrastructure platforms other teams depend on. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Slurm at scale, hands on. Has run slurmctld and slurmdbd for real users: partitions, QoS and priority, accounting, prolog and epilog, node health scripting, upgrades with jobs on the system. Ideally has operated an HPC or GPU training cluster for a research population.

  • GPU fleet operation on bare metal. NVIDIA driver and CUDA lifecycle, Fabric Manager and NVSwitch behaviour on SXM systems, DCGM-based health and utilisation, MIG, node burn-in and acceptance.

  • High-performance interconnects. InfiniBand fabric and subnet configuration, RDMA, SR-IOV, and diagnosing multi-node NCCL performance problems.

  • Linux systems depth. Kernel modules and drivers, PCIe passthrough and vfio-pci, cgroups and namespaces, performance tuning for compute-heavy workloads.

  • Production Kubernetes operation, not just deployment: control plane, upgrades, CNI and CSI, operators and custom controllers, multi-tenancy design.

  • HPC storage and data movement. Shared filesystems (VAST, Lustre, NFS), node-local NVMe caching, distributing large model weights and datasets across many nodes.

  • Observability and operations. Prometheus, Grafana and Loki or equivalents, SLOs, incident response and post-incident review.

  • Working fluency in JavaScript and Node.js sufficient to review a control plane, CLI and worker services with authority and to make architecture decisions on them. Not a feature-development requirement.

  • A shipped platform with real users. A multi-tenant IaaS or PaaS, or a research computing service: resource isolation, quotas, usage metering, and user-facing API and CLI surfaces.

  • Leadership that stays in the code. People management across time zones, cross-track review, written architecture decisions with alternatives recorded, and the ability to tell a partner or an executive no with reasons.

  • Excellent written and spoken English. Most partner and leadership work happens in writing.

  • Location. Fully remote, based between UTC and UTC+5:30 so the working day overlaps both Europe and India, where the team and its partners work. Occasional travel to partner sites and team events.

Desirable

  • Slurm operators on Kubernetes (Soperator, Slinky) or Kubernetes-native schedulers (Kueue, Volcano, KAI, Kubeflow Trainer).

  • Modern serving stacks (vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM): parallelism strategies, quantisation trade-offs, GPU memory planning.

  • VM and container isolation for multi-tenant GPU compute (KubeVirt, Kata Containers, QEMU and KVM, Firecracker); confidential computing (Intel TDX, AMD SEV-SNP, NVIDIA confidential-compute mode).

  • Cluster API and kubeadm, Cilium, NVSentinel-class autohealing, infrastructure as code and GitOps.

  • Time on the operator side of a GPU cloud, a national or university HPC centre, or an AI lab’s platform team.

  • Peer-to-peer or distributed-systems background.

  • Experience with a hardware provider who provisions but does not operate, and turning that relationship into a written contract with acceptance tests.

Important information for candidates

Engineer Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana Second Horizon | Germany | Remote at Grafana Labs

Staff backend engineer builds AI-native data intelligence systems that provide agents with governed access to enterprise context for observability and decision-making.

Senior Remote Posted about 13 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, the fully managed observability platform trusted by more than 10,000 organizations to ensure reliability, resolve incidents faster, and optimize telemetry at scale. Built on open source and open standards and designed for interoperability across any stack, Grafana Cloud brings AI to observability and observability to AI, giving teams (and their agents) unified visibility so they can see, understand, and act on all their disparate data, wherever it lives, and move at the speed of their ambitions. Customers, including Anthropic, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Salesforce, rely on Grafana Labs. We are a 100% remote company with team members across 40+ countries, backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital. Learn more at grafana.com and follow us on LinkedIn and X.

We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.

You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.

This is a remote opportunity, and we would be interested in applicants located in Spain, Sweden, UK, Ireland or Germany.

The Opportunity:

At Grafana Labs, we build observability tools that help users understand, respond to, and improve their systems – regardless of scale, complexity, or tech stack. We recently started a skunkworks initiative with a mission to bring observability to the rest of the business. Our goal is to make Grafana the single best place where humans and AI agents understand and act on real-time data from across the enterprise. As part of this initiative, we are building an AI-native data intelligence system that gives agents reliable, governed access to enterprise context. This system helps agents retrieve the right data, metadata, definitions, lineage, quality signals, and institutional knowledge without every agent builder having to maintain their own brittle context files. The principle is simple: the context system retrieves, agents decide, and data teams maintain the intelligence.

The new team is a mix of seasoned Grafanistas and new hires. We operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, both as individuals and as a team. Engineers are empowered to make decisions, move quickly, and validate ideas early – while being supported by a deeply collaborative culture that values curiosity, feedback, and cross-functional partnership.

We’re looking for a Staff-level Backend Engineer to help build the first production services for this context layer management system. You will design and ship the core backend architecture that powers ingestion, context storage, retrieval APIs, and agent-facing integrations. This is an early-stage role on a high-autonomy team, so you should be comfortable working through ambiguity, making pragmatic architectural decisions, and building systems that can evolve from internal dogfooding to production-grade SaaS. As the team matures, there’s a broad opportunity to expand or redefine this role based on impact and initiative.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build the core backend services: Design, implement, test, and operate the first services for context ingestion, context indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
  • Create a scalable SaaS foundation: Help define and build the architecture for a multi-tenant service, including tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and reliable service boundaries.
  • Power agent-facing retrieval workflows: Build APIs and service interfaces that allow AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve relevant context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
  • Work across product and infrastructure: Partner with the team to make practical tradeoffs between fast experimentation and long-term reliability, especially as the project moves from prototype to production.
  • Operate what you build: Instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards. Use observability tools to understand system behavior and improve reliability.
  • Contribute to technical direction: Help shape the architecture, service boundaries, storage choices, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for a new product area.
  • Effective communication: You’ll be working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment, so we need someone who can communicate effectively and contribute across teams.
  • Ownership and impact: Take full ownership of the AI solutions you develop, ensuring they are not only innovative but also scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Strong engineering skills: Solid experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems. You’re a self-starter, capable of tackling complex engineering problems and making UI design decisions with minimal supervision.
  • AI experience with a practical mindset: You’re familiar with AI technologies and frameworks, and you focus on delivering high-quality solutions that work in the real world, not just in theory.
  • Quick iteration and experimentation: You’re comfortable releasing prototypes, collecting feedback, and iterating with a pragmatic mindset.
  • Proven initiative: You take ownership and drive projects forward, pushing boundaries to find the most impactful solutions. You can deal with ambiguity and are able to define scope where things are loosely defined.
  • Collaborative attitude: You communicate effectively with your peers. You’re open to feedback, and you bring a solutions-oriented mindset to the table.
  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and building applications powered by GenAI.
  • Proven track record of delivering software that made it into production and is actively used by users.
  • Exposure to working in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience building or working with agent frameworks or multi‑agent workflows.
  • Experience as a data analyst or work with data platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, DataBricks)
  • Experience building tools for data engineering.

How we work:

Tempo is relied upon by prominent global organizations to monitor critical applications and infrastructure, and we expect everyone on the team, including our Staff engineers, to contribute ideas that make it a more reliable, more useful, and more loved product.

Engineer Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana Second Horizon | Spain | Remote at Grafana Labs

Staff backend engineer builds AI-native data intelligence systems and observability platforms at scale for enterprise customers.

We are a remote-first team that meets regularly over video and does most of our work asynchronously, in writing. We value creativity, diverse perspectives, and clear communication. Tempo is relied upon by prominent global organizations to monitor critical applications and infrastructure, and we expect everyone on the team, including our Staff engineers, to contribute ideas that make it a more reliable, more useful, and more loved product.

Compensation & Rewards:

In Spain, the Base compensation range for this role is EUR 94,025 - EUR 112,830. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs’ success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally.

*Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process.

Founded by ex-Googlers and startup veterans, we’re proud to partner with teams behind some of the most ambitious products, including Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Walmart and Stripe.

Our work spans strategy, design, and engineering — often in complex, AI-driven environments — where clarity, speed and quality are the standard. We use AI intentionally, applying it only where it adds real value and expands what’s possible. Care shapes everything we do.
